ORBIS Introduces New 40” x 48” Plastic Pallet for
International Shipments
Newest ORBIS pallet is exempt from ISPM 15
OCONOMOWOC, Wis., August 1, 2007-- ORBIS Corporation, a subsidiary of Menasha
Corporation, announced today that it has launched a 40.0” x 48.0” x 5.0” plastic pallet designed
specifically for international trade. This pallet is exempt from ISPM 15* regulations and fully
eliminates the need for heat-treated wood pallets currently required for international shipments.
The 40 x 48 CICP pallet provides an environmental, lightweight alternative to wood pallets
used for the import and export of goods. The all-plastic, one-piece nestable design cannot harbor
pests, mold or fungus.
This nestable, open deck pallet weighs 13 pounds and offers the necessary strength-to-weight
ratio for a one-way shipping pallet. Its efficient nest-ratio of 3.3:1 allows 1,980 pallets to in a
standard 53’ trailer.
According to Marc Brandt, ORBIS Product Manager, “By design, this pallet offers consistent
tare weights, aiding check-in at the first port of entry. And, because it requires no
documentation, it speeds the customs process and reduces risk of rejection.” This pallet is also
manufactured using recyclable materials. Brandt continues, “Nearly 100% of the content is
recoverable and available for use in new pallets.”
The 40 x 48 CICP offers an open, flow-through deck for easy cleaning; contoured corners and
smooth edges for easy handling; 4-way forklift or handjack entry; optional all-plastic picture
frame bottom for secure double stacking; and unique non-skid surface that prevents product shift
during transport.
