ORBIS® Corp. Adds Tyvek® to Dunnage
to Protect Class A Parts

OCONOMOWOC, Wis. – Today ORBIS® Corp. announced it has added Tyvek® brand Class A surface protective material to its dunnage capabilities. ORBIS leads the industry as the first dunnage provider to utilize Tyvek material in its designs.

Tyvek® can be used for Class A surface part protection and is extremely durable. This smooth, opaque material is low-linting and puncture, chemical and water resistant.

ORBIS engineers have completed extensive testing to define a process to laminate the Tyvek® material smoothly onto a variety of plastic corrugated and solid plastic sheet products. This proprietary process produces an extremely protective surface for dunnage used to package Class A parts.

Tyvek®, made by DuPont, is formed by using continuous and very fine non-directional fibers of 100 percent high-density polyethylene. When adhered to standard polyethylene corrugated plastic, it is 100% recyclable. When installed in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) hand-held or bulk containers, the entire unit can be recycled without disassembly.

ORBIS will continue to offer a variety of dunnage solutions produced from an extensive list of materials including corrugated plastic, polyethylene foam, crosslinked polyethylene foam, high-density polyethylene, fabric for pouches/bags, polyurethane foam, and molded expanded polypropylene foam. ORBIS’ design team will ensure that the dunnage and container solution will meet the needs of the application.
