ORBIS NAMES 2018 PLANT OF THE YEAR
ORBIS' Georgetown, Kentucky plant receives annual award for exceptional performance
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — March 22, 2019 — ORBIS® Corporation, an international leader in reusable packaging, named its Georgetown, Kentucky facility its 2018 Plant of the Year. This annual award honors an ORBIS plant for its performance in safety, quality, service, innovation and overall operational performance.
This plant has been part of Menasha Corporation since 2008 and employs approximately 120 people. It serves customers throughout North America and manufactures reusable packaging products including plastic, collapsible BulkPak® containers.
The Georgetown plant, one of twelve ORBIS manufacturing facilities considered, won the Plant of the Year for its outstanding safety standards and quality performance. According to Todd Mathes, executive vice-president of operations, “The Georgetown plant led the way in many categories this year including safety, plant efficiency and on-time delivery”.
In the area of safety, the plant had zero recordable incidents, which has continued into 2019. The Georgetown plant is well known for its engaged and positive environment for its associates and offers ongoing engagement and technical training.

In addition to its operational achievements, the plant is dedicated to the Georgetown community and supports local nonprofits such as Safe Haven, the Amen House, Heavenly Blessings, Scott County Animal Shelter, Trooper Island, Salvation Army, Lupus Foundation and Toys for Tots.
