At ORBIS Corporation, we partner with purchasing agents and members of supply chain departments spanning the world’s largest can and bottle manufacturers to local players smaller regional boutique providers, all who manage their circular loop distribution networks. The commonality is that both customer groups are seeking a total solution provider – one who always responds to their needs with expert support and counsel and delivers on-time, high-quality products that meet all industry standards and are uniform. These varied customers also share a need to demonstrate return on investment (ROI) while making their jobs easier by creating supply chain efficiencies.
And our beverage top frames are a key part of this total solution that can help our customers get to the next level with their continued growth. Our beverage top frames are for empty containers for metal beverage cans or glass bottles for soda, beer, and other liquids, glass bottles, as well as glass jars for food, like pickles, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies who are bringing in empty containers, filling them, and sending them back to their customers. The standard application involves a pallet, layer of containers, a layer pad, and then a top frame that brings all those layers together as a complete solution and secures the load of empty containers.
What comprises a “full stack”?
We’re the only company who can provide what we call a “full stack” packaging solution – the pallets, top frames, and sheets, and our customers appreciate this continuity. We also provide the broadest line of 44×56 pallets along with in-house extrusion for either solid or corrugated sheets, based on the application.
Our top frames are made of high-pressure plastic with steel in the middle, allowing for a low plastics weight and strength. They are easy to handle and have a low breakage rate, which leads to a lower cost of ownership for our customers over the long run. We provide two versions of our top frames – a standard-duty and heavy-duty high-pressure top frames. Standard-duty is used primarily for beverage cans but also some of those lightweight plastic containers for CPGs. Meanwhile, the heavy-duty version contains additional steel reinforcement for glass applications, providing the needed amount of banding tension to band tall stacks of layers of glass.

Workhorse products for heavy-duty applications
Regardless of their size, our beverage industry customers, like those from other industries, want workhorse products that are used for the exact same application every single time. So, we don’t manufacture lightweight parts; we make parts that will meet the heavy-duty applications of circular loops. This helps ensure the pallets, top frames and sheets last for years so our customers can achieve their intended ROI. For example, our OCP pallet is light weight and inexpensive yet robust enough to be used for hundreds of loops in its lifetime.
A total solution that extends to our customer service
Being a total solution provider extends to our customer service. Customers have one point of contact – an account manager, who is immersed in and understands their business and related supply chain needs and can respond quickly to them. They also help identify the types of automation points along the loop and that our products meet the needs of many different automation types. Top frames, for example, feature standard-size dimensions that meet the market standards of palletizers and depalletizers common in the beverage industry.
